(actually Florida Everglades)

Captain Mark Bennett tarpon fishingAs predicted July and August was the best part of the 2019 Boca Grande/Charlotte Harbor season.  Lots of days with multiple releases and all sight casting swimbaits on spinning rods.

The big news, I just arrived home after 5 weeks fishing the Florida Everglades.  With the mild weather and the lack of cold fronts, just like last fall, the fishing was exceptional.  Every day we had multiple opportunities.  Only two days we didn’t have a tarpon boatside for a photo session.  With tarpon fishing those numbers are unbelievable.  Check out my Facebook page and Instagram to see the photos and videos from the trip.  Because of the incredibly long days when I am fishing down there I waited till now to start posting the photos from this past month.  Fall 2020 I will be fishing the Everglades out of Flamingo/upper Keys mid September and most of October.  I will have the dates set in the next week or so for 2020 fall in the Everglades.  I will be posting the dates here and on social media.  If you like to fish with spinning rods or fly this is a true tarpon fishing adventure you will never forget.  For more information check out: Gladestarpon.com

Captain Mark Bennett tarpon fishingThis spring I will be fishing here at home in  Charlotte Harbor and it’s surrounding waters for tarpon starting in March.  Tarpon of all sizes will be the target.

Till next time,

Captain Mark Bennett
