Mid-Winter Fishing Report

Charlotte Harbor FishingFirst fishing report of the year!

Even with the water a chilly 70 degrees, the redfish still continue to bite.  The polar vortex last week made the lows all of the way down to 48 last week.  Thankfully two days later we were back in the 80′s.  Spring will be here before we know it.

Overall this has been a real good winter for fishing.  Most of the cold fronts never made it this far south.  Like most winters, redfish and trout have been the most consistent bite.  We are still catching a few snook as well.  Although I haven’t tried to target them yet, I am seeing a few pompano skipping around a few of the outer islands too.

I will be back soon with a fresh fishing report and a bunch of new photos!!!

Till then, keep the line tight and bow when they jump!
